List of language requirements for the owner’s manual for all EU/EEA countries

Since the introduction of the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD), the question of which language or languages the Owner's Manual has to be written in has arisen again and again, although the RCD is quite clear in its wording according to Article 7(7) and Article 9(4).

It has to be drafted in such a way "...that the product is accompanied by instructions and safety information in the owner's manual in a language or languages determined by the Member State concerned, which can be easily understood by consumers and other end-users...".

Please find here a list of the officially required languages as of 20 August 2021, which should remove any ambiguity. IMCI will update this list as necessary. Please keep an eye on it.
