The time has come!
IMCI (UK) has been accredited in UK under the "UK Recreational Craft Regulation"IMCI (UK) in Liverpool, a spin-off from IMCI in Brussels, has been accredited on 3 May 2022 as Inspection and Certification Body No. 22120 by UKAS according to ISO 17025 and ISO 17065 under the "UK Recreational Craft Regulation (as amended)".
What is still pending, hopefully only in the short term, is the approval of IMCI (UK) as a "UK Approved Body" by the higher authority BEIS. Once IMCI (UK) has received this, they can start issuing UKCA certificates. Although the CE mark will still be recognised in the UK until the end of 2022, quite a few requests have already been received from IMCI customers for UKCA certificates.
IMCI has been well established in the CE business since 1996. IMCI (UK), however, is entering the unknown UKCA market. Both mother and daughter feel strictly committed to the non-profit idea and thus to the lowest possible prices. Certainly, on the one hand, we know the not inconsiderable costs of establishing and accrediting IMCI (UK). On the other hand, we do not find it easy to set appropriate prices for UKCA certificates!
Therefore, today we would like to encourage all manufacturers who are considering UKCA certification to contact us about their possible needs. This should be in the interest of both sides. Please let us know how many UKCA certificates (please also specify the Modules) for
- Components,
- Noise Emissions,
- Exhaust Emissions,
- Watercraft
you are likely to be considering.
Consequently, we will be happy to send you our attractive quotation as soon as we can assess the needs of the industry more precisely. Please send your details, completely without any obligation for you, to info@imci-uk.org.
