EN ISO 8848:2022 - Remote mechanical steering systems (ISO 8848:2022) will replace EN ISO 8848:2017.
The new standard applies as of 12 January 2024. In order to give manufacturers sufficient time to prepare for the application of the new standard, the date of withdrawal of the former EN ISO 8848:2017 has been extended until 12 July 2025. Until then both standards give the Presumption of Conformity.
This edition only constitutes a minor revision. Changes have been made to align the document with other ISO/TC 188 standards and to avoid circularity of normative references.
