New EU Official Journal publication
The EU Commission has published new harmonised standards for the Recreational Craft Directive on 25 April 2024.These are the following ISO standards:
EN ISO 13297:2021 Small craft - Electrical systems - Alternating and direct current installations (ISO 13297:2020) as amended by EN ISO 13297:2021/A1:2022 and by EN ISO 13297:2021/A11:2023
The new standard applies as of 25 October 2025. In order to give manufacturers sufficient time to adapt their products to the revised version of harmonised standards EN ISO 10133:2017, EN ISO 13297:2018, and EN ISO 15083:2018, it is necessary to defer the withdrawal of the references of those standards.
A1:2022 and A11:2023 represent only minor changes. Changes have been made to align the document with other ISO/TC 188 standards and to avoid normative cross-references. Furthermore, Annex ZA has been revised.
